| Along the journey toward our goals, it is important to possess commitment and express compassion. When you approach your life with commitment and compassion, there will be no stopping you in your pursuits, and you will learn to be easy on yourself. To commit means to become attached. A commitment is a binding agreement. When we commit an act, we are bound to it. We cannot take it back. When we make a commitment, we are bound to not go back on our word. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ First we commit in thought, then we follow through on the commitment in action. In goal-setting, our thoughts first become attached to an outcome, then our actions commit us to a physical path. When our thoughts and actions are aligned to the same commitment, we manifest conflicting energies. When we commit to reaching our goals, we make a binding agreement with our selves. A commitment is usually proclaimed in a ceremony, so do this with your goals and desires. Formally commit yourself to thinking about what you want and acting toward it. A commitment is always to your self, since other people represent aspects of our selves. In any relationship, it is important to be clear on what trust means to each of you, in three dimensional specific terms. Trust for a guy us usually physical, manifesting as, “Don’t be with another.” Trust for a woman is usually mental, manifesting as, “Don’t think about another.” Herein lies a huge misunderstood conflict that shows the importance of being clear about what certain concepts mean to each of you. The same is true in business and any relationship dealing with trust or the lack thereof. Anyone can stick to their word when there’s no temptation. A commitment means sticking to your word while intense forces try to distort you. Life is filled with temptation, and we are easily distracted away from our commitments. We all know the intense forces we are subject to in three dimensional illusion. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the pursuit of our goals, distraction lies everywhere. With every turn, every decision, every action, every inaction, there lies a potential detour away from the path that leads to your desires. We must be constantly vigilant, to be sure that our decisions, thoughts, actions and emotions keep us aligned with the path we want to follow. It is alright if your path changes because your goal changes, but don’t allow yourself to be pulled onto a path that is not of your choice. When you do become distracted, remember that you can get back on any path you choose, at any moment you choose. Re-alignment takes only a moment, and it is never too late for anyone. When you are committed to yourself, you will be tempted by doubt, guilt and a relentless cacophony of other forces beyond our understanding. Being committed to yourself means that you keep taking action toward your path and keeping your mind focused on the goal. When you are faced with your own mental resistance, realize that it is only temptation. Give it as much validity as you choose. Tomorrow, we will discuss the importance of Compassion in your journey of enlightenment.
