This Week's Topics

Comments from the Editor
One thing about the Web is that it evolves. With time, things change. Of course, on Codeguru things haven't changed all that much over time. But the lack of change is likely to change going forward! In fact, you are going to see a number of changes over the next week.

On Wednesday — if all goes well — we are planning to do an update to Codeguru. You're going to see changes to the home page, the navigation, and the presentation of articles. These are a lot of other changes you'll see as well. These are not revolutionary changes, but rather incremental. These changes are a step towards the future.

I'm sure there will be some changes you don't like. In fact, there are a few I don't find as great improvements. However, these changes set us up to be able to do more going forward. Hopefully you'll find that it is a step in the right direction. I'm sure if you don't, you'll let me know!

One thing you'll see we did was to move the navigation to the top. This gives more space to articles and content. This should help a lot on the article pages. We've also added a new tag that can be used in our article pages. This is the LANG tag. You can use this with your code to get automatic color formatting in your listings. There will be more on the LANG tag in the help files that Rich is creating.

I'm sure that there will be some bugs and issues with the site changes that get launched. Please feel free to post comments in the Feedback forum on the site, or to email me directly if you have comments.

One other change that is coming is a change to this newsletter. In the near future, we will be revamping this newsletter. This will include dropping my editorial ramblings. I've been rambling since early 2001, so it is time to try something different! Of course, if you like my ramblings, then subscribe to the Codeguru Blog. I'll continue to ramble there and in the forums!

Until next time...

Brad!
